How it started….

My grandfather gifted me my first film camera in grade school. That simple gift sparked a lifelong love for photography—one that would later become my purpose.

After years of pursuing a career in teaching, everything changed when I was diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease. I had to step away from the classroom, but photography gave me a new way to connect, create, and contribute. What began as a passion soon became a profession, and BrittRenePhoto was born—capturing mainly weddings but always found a space for families & their milestones.

Fifteen years later, I’m a mom—and the desire to freeze time has only grown stronger.  I felt the call to create something more—something for the families I’ve grown with over the years. That vision became SKO Studios, a natural-light space designed to celebrate connection, real moments, and the art of everyday life.

Whether we’re in the studio or out in nature, capturing love in all its forms will always be something truly, incredibly special. I get it—because I’m living it too.

Let’s get to know each other. THREE FUN FACTS ABOUT Britt.

NO. 1

"Ask my daughter her favorite activity and she’ll proudly say, 'Traveling!' She’s not wrong—our family’s at its best when we’re off on an adventure, discovering new places, trying new foods, and collecting memories. Exploring the world together is definitely our kind of fun."

NO. 2

I was my high school mascot—yep, a dolphin! I wasn’t cut out for dance or cheer (soccer girlie through and through), but my energy and big personality landed me the role. Best part? I got to be on the sidelines with all my girlfriends. Still some of my favorite memories to this day.

NO. 3

I started out as a Preschool/Kindergarten teacher before becoming a photographer- almost 25 years ago.

What families are saying

Real Words from Real Families

  • What really stood out was Britt’s incredible patience, warmth, and ability to connect with both boys in their own. She turned what could have been a chaotic session into a fun, relaxed, and truly memorable experience for all of us.

    - MB

  • SKO Studios is such a fun environment for my kid to take his photos! The set up was so relaxing, Britt made the experience engaging and quick and we got pictures back that truly captured who our kid is at this stage. The photos felt authentic (not forced at all!) with such great lighting, colors and options.

    - CC

  • "The moments that Britt has captured are hung all over my home. She is a magician with her camera. My toddler is pretty shy when getting his photo taken, but Britt has always been able to get him to laugh, smile and be engaged during our photo sessions. There is no stress with working with her, just sweet memories."

    - WM

  • Working with Britt was an absolute dream; she's by far the most incredible photographer I've ever encountered. Her photographs truly speak for themselves. They are breathtakingly beautiful and possess a unique ability to highlight the best in every subject. I typically dread having my photo taken, which sadly often comes through in photos. Not with Britt though; I feel like a model! Choosing the final photos was always incredibly difficult because they were all winners. I will only work with Britt for capturing life’s most treasured moments.

    - DM

  • Her eye for detail and ability to catch real moments is what sets her apart. You can tell she truly loves what she does, and it shows in every photo. Whether it’s a milestone moment, a “SKOol” photo with personality, or a full family session, she somehow finds those sweet, unscripted expressions that parents will treasure forever.

    -BR

  • Britt at SKO Studio is seriously amazing at capturing those real moments with kids - you know, the ones where they're actually being themselves instead of doing that weird fake smile thing. She's super patient and doesn't try to rush through the session, which is huge when you're dealing with little ones who need time to warm up. Somehow she gets past all the typical kid chaos and manages to catch their actual personality on camera. We ended up with photos that actually look like our kids, not some posed version of them. Definitely recommend!
